This project is of the exam section "Animals in Motion". This is me taking my dog out for a walk in Blandford Forum, taking pictures of the various wildlife. This is in motion as we are walking the dog, which involves travelling, so not only are the animals moving, but we are too.

Martin Parr Research

Martin Parr (born 24 May 1952) is a British documentary photographer, photojournalist and photobook collector. He is known for his photographic projects that take a critical look at aspects of modern life, in particular provincial and suburban life in England. This ties in with the topic of people and places.

You can tell he his particularly interested in people and places by looking at his blog where he frequently posts updates about his views on different places. "I sometimes think the traffic is bad in London, and when i'm in places like Beijing and Dubia i know it's best to avoid rush hour, as your journey may take double the time. Moscow though, tops the congestion league by a mile. Even though it would be quicker to walk, Muscovites just sit tight, grin and bare it. Wrapped up in a womb-like cavity, away from the crowd, they can sit for hours. Depth of Field

Depth of field is the distance between the nearest and farthest objects in a scene that appear acceptably sharp in an image. Although a lens can precisely focus at only one distance at a time, the decrease in sharpness is gradual on each side of the focused distance, so that within the depth of field, the unsharpness is imperceptible under normal viewing conditions. On a camera, this funtion will usually be marked as DOF. Personally i think Depth of field works best when there is one thing you particular you want to focus on.

Shutter Speed

In photography, shutter speed is a common term used to discuss exposure time, the effective length of time a camera's shutter is open. The total exposure is proportional to this exposure time, or duration of light reaching the film or image sensor.
